London~!

LONDON~!

Going to London have been in my list for a long time, but I'm not manage to make it as I'm busy working and my saving is just enough for my living.

But I as I'm going to reach 30 years old a few years later, I think I must go to the London, one of the Europe country, before I step into the 30s class. Just as a reward or self-pamper perhaps.

I booked my flight ticket in Jun and went to London on end of September. The flight ticket total cost about RM 2400 for both way. Actually the price is still acceptable~~.

I reach the Heathrow Airport terminal 4, London after taking flight from KLIA, Kuala Lumpur. The flight took about 13 hours with a stop/transit in another country. I reach London airport in the morning about 6 am.

As I reach, I would say there's so many people in the arrival custom check. It's a long queue and there are so many foreign people waiting. I took about an hour long queue to wait for my turn. Lastly, I have to take my luggage that I check in.I think I took me total about 2 hours to complete clear off everything in the Heathrow airport. I would say, the security is good as they really check the luggages precisely.

I left and I directly took an underground tube to High Barnet. Not to worry as there's signboard to show, where you can take the underground subway. It's a distance walk within the airport. If you have difficulties to understand the signboard, you may ask the blue shirt officer. As you reach the underground tube area, you have to proceed to purchase an oyster card which is use for topup money to take the tube. There's machine to buy the oyster card. But because I have only big note cash, I was unable to use the oyster card machine to purchase oyster card. Well, you don;t have to be worry as there's a convenience shop on the left, nearby the oyster card machine. The convenience shop sell drinks and snack, and you could purchase the Oyster card in that convenience shop too, I would recommend to put in 15 British Pound. Actually there's capped price per day which is 10 pounds per day when you use the tube. So, not to worry if you have to travel far, and you are visiting many places, as long as you are using the tube, it will only cost maximum per day as 10 pound. Off course if you only cost you for one way ride if the fare you use is less than 10 pound. For weekdays, the capped priced is lower which can be 8.50 pound per day. I would say by using the Oyster card, you can save a lot on transportation as you reach most of the tourist spot destination using underground tube. All the underground map you could simply take it at the underground tube station.

For the tourist spot destination, I would introduce you to the Westminister station. It's a station where you could see the Big Ben , The iconic red telephone booth, Westminister Abbey, ( it just located outside of the station Westminister.) , and if you can walk further just about five minutes from the Westminister station, you will found the famous Cola-Cola London Eye, it indeed a breathtaking view. For the London tower, you might need to go about  10 minutes walk, and you will found it as there's a writing written on entrance as "Tower bridge". I guess you will found yourself spend a day at Westminister station. Before I end the day, I stop at the Borough market, to fill my stomach. There's plenty of food, and I try their burger which I felt the portion is really big. I share it with my friend.

The next day I went to the Buckingham Palace. It's a place to meet the Queen~! But, sadly, I didn't saw the Queen. I walked at the outside of the Buckingham palace and there's a Garden nearby. The flowers are pretty. From the Buckingham palace, I walk to the Kensington Palace. It's quite far, and I think I took about 20 minutes walk by foot. As I walk, I look around on the street, and there's a lot of children on the street cycling and playing among themselves. I just love the peaceful and tranquility scenery. It's so relaxing. There's  a park in the Kensington Palace, The entrance is free, and I could catch a glimpse on the Queen Victoria statue. I spend my day walking on the park, and rest down when I'm tired. In the evening, After that, in the noon, I take a underground train stop at King Cross station to the Platform 3/4  as what you could only found in London.Harry potter shop and accessories can be found sell in the shop too. After that as I went back to High Barnet, and I walk around the area and shops some snacks for dinner.

The next day, I leave London to Madrid,Spain in the evening.
Before that I went to the Piccadilly station, to have a walk at their high fashion street, where there's all expensive brand sell on the mall. It's just another shopping heaven to explore on.
For the London trips, I would say, spending about 3 days 2 nights, or 4 days 3 nights, is sufficient to visit the iconic tourist spot. I spend my night staying at my uncle house, and I would say, I save a lot for accommodations on hotels and foods especially breakfast.

Thus the spending would be:
Flights ticket: RM2400
Transportation : 25 pounds ( about 1 pound: RM 5.60) ~ RM 140
Food: 40 pounds  ( it cost about 5-6 pound per food) ~ RM 224
Rooms or hostel: Free. (But mostly 1 night will be about RM 100. You may allocated about RM300 for three night)

To the airport: 27 pound. ( RM 152)

Total expenses: RM2400 + RM140 + RM 224 + (Free) + RM 152
                       = RM2916 ( Perhaps round it up to ~RM 3K)

RM 3K for London trip, it's acceptable=)
